Lifeline Ambulance Service Ltd
Location: Kildare
Lifeline, established in 1998, is the largest private ambulance operator in Ireland and is the second largest ambulance service after the HSE’s National Ambulance Service (NAS). Our headquarters is located in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, adjacent to the M4 and less than 10 minutes from the M50, with a number of regional facilities also.
We operate a nationwide ambulance service and a local minibus service, as well as providing transport for transplant retrieval teams and organs. Lifeline also provides an overseas repatriation service, as well as providing standby medical cover at corporate, charity and sporting events. Lifeline is the No. 1 Provider to the HSE on a national basis.
Lifeline is approved by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) to provide services in accordance with the PHECC Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs), 3rd Edition.
Lifeline has established an enviable reputation as an innovator and early adopter since it commenced operations, including achieving numerous ‘firsts’:
First Irish ambulance service to introduce CEN vehicles (European standard)
First Irish ambulance service to train and deploy Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)
First European ambulance service to commence full vehicle decontamination, in addition to routine/deep cleaning operations
First Irish ambulance service to introduce Garda vetting for all personnel. Operational staff are Garda vetted on a bi-annual basis
