Description

The M-Audio USB Uno (also known as the MIDISPORT Uno) is an ultra-compact, portable 1-in/1-out USB MIDI interface designed to seamlessly connect external hardware to a computer. It acts as an all-in-one adapter cable, transmitting 16 channels of MIDI data bi-directionally between your computer and devices like synthesizers, older keyboards, drum machines, or sound modules.
Key Specs & Features
• Simple Layout: Offers basic 1 x 1 operation (one MIDI Input plug and one MIDI Output plug).
• 16 Channels: Supports full 16x16 MIDI channel data management.
• No Extra Power Needed: The unit is entirely USB bus-powered, eliminating the need for an external power brick.
• Built-in Cables: Comes with integrated USB and 5-pin MIDI cables right out of the box so you do not need to buy extra wires.
• Status Lights: Built-in LED activity indicators show you when power is on and when MIDI data is flowing in or out.
• Compatibility: Works across modern setups, supporting both Windows and macOS platforms.
How to Hook It Up
1. USB Side: Plug the standard USB Type-A connector straight into a free port on your computer.
2. MIDI Side: The cable leads are clearly labeled. Plug the cable marked "MIDI IN" into your keyboard's MIDI OUT port. Plug the cable marked "MIDI OUT" into your keyboard's MIDI IN port. (Note: You cross them because data flows out of the keyboard and into the interface, or vice versa).
3. Software: Open your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) or music software, select "Uno" or "USB MIDI Device" as your MIDI peripheral, and you are ready to play.
