Korg Triton Extreme 61

Description

Well used but still functioning sampler synth.
I had this 20+ years, played many gigs, in fact it paid for itself, my car, paid for my wedding, pays the mortgage. I am not sure if I should sell it or give it a seat at the dinner table but I upgraded and it's only taking space. And I need the money with the Diesel being what it is nowadays.
The dial skips back and forth, you wanna use the slider for data entry, battery needs changing and the bottom is rusty but it still beats some of the toys I see flying around. If you're handy you can give it a bit of a tune up. Never broke a key, added some RAM but no EXB moss module unfortunately.

EDIT: I will consider trading for a comparable ARRANGER KEYBOARD / ENTERTAINER KEYBOARD

Hi. How did the bottom get rusty?
emiliano about a day ago
@BaronVonLethal: I've been with a band for a couple years where we'd all leave our gear in the van, the unit was there inside the flight case. I guess that's how it got rusty

Thanks for the reply Emiliano. So the battery needs replacing and the dial skips. So this is the biggest issue, because it will need a new encoder and that requires soldering. Taking into account the cost of a new battery, the cost of the new rotary encoder, plus shipping and import taxes, plus the cost to pay someone do do the install work, what is your lowest you will take?

Cheers.

@BaronVonLethal: fair play, all of that makes sense.
The dial skipping might be just dust buildup but there's no way to know that for sure until it gets opened and a proper look is taken inside so yes, on top of parts there will be labor involved if one is looking to restore the unit to its original glory dated back 2004 or whereabouts.
Your point is well argued and I respect and acknowledge all of that.
I would say that the sweet spot between:
- your points
- the unit still being perfectly functional AND a good backup if anything happens to my newer setup
- my need to free up space in the gaff
- similar unit being sold on ebay at around the 600 pounds mark
- handy cash

would reside exactly at the €400 mark
how does that sound?
