Roland JX10 SuperJX Vintage Polysynth. Upgraded + MPG70 Controller

I didn't expect to ever sell this but there's a couple of new synths I am trying to fund so have decided to sell.

The JX10 is a vintage flagship Roland polysynth. It's the equivalent of two JX8Ps but with the modifications and upgrades I've had done professionally to this instrument it's now much more than that. It's one of the most comprehensively upgraded Super JX systems available in Europe.

Starsky Carr's video really shows what this synth is capable of (he used the module version MKS70)

1. Vecoven v4.x firmware upgrade: This is the most significant upgrade available for the Super JX platform, replacing the original Roland firmware with a modern feature set. Enhancements include vastly improved MIDI implementation, SysEx support, full parameter control via MIDI CCs, much faster backup and restore functions, expanded memory, arpeggiator features and compatibility with modern editors and controllers. The upgrade effectively brings the JX-10 into the modern MIDI era while retaining its classic analogue sound.

2. PWM hardware modification: Vecoven PWM hardware modification fitted to both voice boards. Adds true pulse-width modulation capability, one of the most sought-after enhancements for the Super JX, significantly expanding the sonic palette beyond the original factory specification. A game changer

1&2 cost €380 plus a few hours of tech time to install.

3. Guy Wilkinson OLED display: a crisp modern display manufactured by Guy Wilkinson who is a UK expert on this instrument. Costs £146 (+shipping + import VAT but Guy is not shipping to the EU these days. Plus tech time.
Guy Wilkinson display information at his site https://supersynthprojects.com/

4. All tact switches replaced by a loca tech. There's no issues with the data wheel/dial.

5. Retroaktiv MPG-70 Mk3 controller included: Retroaktiv are no longer selling these outside the US; there are none for sale in Europe and I don't expect you'll see another of these in the near future. The controller puts a powerful polysynth on your desktop (or a rack if you prefer). If they were shipping to EU this would e $1400 plus shipping plus VAT on import

I'll add photos this weekend. Cosmetically the MPG70 is as-new and comes with original packaging. Cosmetically the JX10 is 40 years old but does not have any damage; some normal wear and tear from years of studio use.

Pricing is competitive, there's a Vecoven v3 (not v4, not with PWM, not with new display) on Reverb for €2500 plus shipping.

Some more about the JX10:

Released in 1985 the JX-10 (Super JX) combines two individual JX-8P's for an outstandingly warm, rich and analog sound which is still used in many modern studios all over the world. This synth was the first Roland Synth to be fitted with a quality 76 note keyboard with velocity and aftertouch. Two DCO's per voice, two ADSR envelope generators per voice, and a resonant lowpass & non-resonant highpass filters are only the beginning. It has a 12 voice polyphony for a total of 24 oscillators and it is by far one of the most programmable synths of its time!

The JX10 has a Chorus effect and a chase-play Delay function.

The JX-10 also comes in a rack-mount version known as the MKS-70. It's worth noting that the original JX-10 can not be edited via SysEx: that's why Vecoven created his amazing upgrade kit.

The JX-10 has been used by Jane Child, Pink Floyd, Duran Duran and The Cure. And me. Maybe you now that it's for sale.
