Yamaha SY85 Synthesizer + Upgrades

Selling a Yamaha SY85 Workstation from 1992. This was Yamaha's answer to the Korg 01/W and Roland JV synths. It's an excellent synth with some great features for its time. It has a high quality keybed, making for a great choice as a master keyboard.

The synth is in superb condition for its age, with only some minor scuffs here and there. It's been very well looked after. Everything is working perfectly. Display is nice and bright, all keys and aftertouch work. The front panel buttons, sliders, and rotary encoder are responsive and work well.

It has been upgraded to 8.5 MB of sample memory. The floppy drive one these tend to go bad and are not standard, so they can be difficult to replace. The drive on this one has been replaced with a Gotek drive using a special adapter, allowing a USB stick can be used instead of old unreliable floppy disks.
