An in-depth look at the creation of the iconic album. The Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary: The Joshua Tree – originally released on March 9, 1987 – was the album that transformed U2 from being a big band into one of the most powerful and enduring forces in the history of rock music. Hot Press revisits the time and the places that inspired it; recalls the reaction that greeted the album; talks to key participants; and re-evaluates a record that, for many, changed the world in a powerful and positive way. This U2 Special includes contributions from Niall Stokes, Olaf Tyaransen, Colm O’Hare, Joe O’Connor, Valentina Magli, Steve Averill, Kevin Thornton, Miriam O’Callaghan, Maria McKee, Peter McGoran, Lindsey Holmes and the late, great Bill Graham.
