#41: Moon Knight engages in the superhero free for all that occurs in Four Freedoms Plaza when Daredevil declares that Mr. Fantastic is a dupe and attacks him; After the dust settles (and a Gamma Bomb is diffused), MK and his fellow heroes who have stayed on earth are attacked by doppelgangers sent by the Magus; Moon Knight saves Franklin Richards from the evil version of himself but finds himself facing his own personal demon; The MK doppelganger begins absorbing Moon Knights from other dimensions and becomes the creature known as Moon Shade.

#42: Moon Shade explains that he has stolen power from Franklin Richards and the Franklin Richards doppelganger. This allows him to absorb most of the Moon Knights in the multiverse. Moon Shade travels to various alternate universes to drain the remaining counterparts, with Marc Spector in tow. He fights and kills at least seven counterparts. Spector deduces that Moon Shade is vulnerable to adamantium, and manages to destory the doppelganger with his electrified bo staff.

#43: Moon Knight returns to Four Freedoms Plaza, and helps the gathered heroes battle against an army of doppelgangers. He faces off against duplicates of Black Knight, Beast, Darkhawk, and Daredevil. The doppelgangers continue to respawn, but finally melt and cease attacking.Meanwhile, Frenchie consults with members of the Shadow Cabinet. They plan how to cure Moon Knight's deteriorating infection and gain information from Demogoblin.

#44: Adam Warlock defeats the Magus. Meanwhile, Seth reveals himself as the traitor within the Knights Templar. Alongside Agony and Basilisk, he kills the remaining members of the council.The Fantastic Four return to their headquarters, and find Moon Knight. He requests their help to cure his deteriorating body. Doctor Strange appears, and offers his help as well. Using the Eye of Agamotto, they discover that Moon Knight is possessed by a demon. Strange and Mister Fantastic struggle to contain the demon, finally managing to shoot him with a tranquilizer. They inform Moon Knight that they require a tissue sample from the infection source.Back at his Shadowkeep, Moon Knight consults with the Shadow Cabinet. They plan to infiltrate Demogoblin's prison. Turning on the television news, they learn a rally is taking place outside the prison to protest the scheduled execution of John DeZoan.
