Rummaging through the ruins of an old storehouse on the Isla de Huesos, Eddie Brock is delighted to come across a can of peaches. Addressing the Venom symbiote - which has taken the form of a Hawaiian shirt and shorts, Eddie points out that while it may not need to take in food externally he does, and that since eating people isn't an option he's longing for something other than mangos and coconuts. Smiling, Eddie fondly reminisces about his beloved Aunt Martha - who used to make seared peaches - before swearing revenge on the doctor who misdiagnosed her terminal cancer. As Eddie prepares to set off for his home-base, the symbiote transforms into a fur skin and teasingly suggests he emulate Johnny Weissmuller's trademark Tarzan yell, though Eddie pointedly refuses - remarking that would be silly.
As he web-swings through the jungle, Eddie hears unfamiliar voices and tracks them to the beach, where he watches from a treetop as a group of arms dealers unload stolen military technology from a yacht at sea. The leader of the arms-dealers, Mr. McKinney, brandishes an energy pistol and holds a man named Georgie - who used to be the foreman of Isla de Huesos' mine - hostage, demanding that he escort them through the mines. Eddie contemplates eating them there and then, but decides to follow them to make sure they leave the island without discovering him to avoid compromising his precious privacy.
In the mines, Eddie watches as the arms-dealers unload the stolen weaponry. Georgie asks if Mr. McKinney will honor his promise and let him go, Mr. McKinney saying that he said they'd never see each other again and that he's a man of his word before vaporizing Georgie with the energy pistol. Disgusted by this act of betrayal and enraged by the murder of an innocent, Eddie decides to kill the arms-dealers after all. When the symbiote cuts off Eddie's "We are Venom!" catchphrase to point out that they need a new codename now that Spider-Man is dead, Eddie agrees but vetoes its suggestions of Vulnerable, Venison, and Venus. Agreeing to "Vengeance", Eddie transforms and throws a minecart at one of the arms-dealers. Panicking, one of the arms-dealers opens fire with an assault rifle while crying out that the island really is cursed, Vengeance snarking about how expensive bullets are before "recycling" them by firing them right back at the man who shot him. As a third arms-dealer begs for mercy and says he was just following orders, Vengeance snarls that he chose to follow those orders before crushing him under a pile of crates. Vengeance is suddenly blasted from behind by Mr. McKinney, who exposits that his energy pistol speeds up molecules to vaporize the target at the atomic level. Completely unaffected, Vengeance quips that it tickles. As Vengeance snares his hand with a tendril and aims the gun at his head, Mr. McKinney protests that making him pull the trigger would be murder and that Vengeance would be no better than he is. Grinning maliciously, Vengeance quips that he'd prefer to call it irony before firing the energy gun at a crate of explosives.
Exiting the collapsing mine, Vengeance laments that all the fresh meat is going to waste buried beneath the rubble and grouses that now he'll have to take the skiff and yacht out to deeper waters and sink them. Quipping that a wise man knows how to prioritize, Eddie decides to leave that for later and enjoy his can of peaches first.
