Beautiful 1933 Herman Carlson Levin 8-String Mandolin in good condition. This one has Flat Back & Sides, a teardrop shape, round soundhole, spruce top, walnut fingerboard & birch back & sides.

Made from 100 year old close grained Swedish spruce. She’s a loud girl well able to hold her own in a session environment and a perfect studio mandolin. Features in a few of mandolin maestro Chris Thile’s YouTube videos which reflects the quality of instrument I’m selling.

If you go to this website it will tell you about the model numbers and nMandolin names of those manufactured since 1947

Prior to that, there are no names or model numbers. Instead, they were denoted by the serial number and that gives you the year manufactured.

As these are bot 1935, this fell under the serial number convention
