Antique 19th Century Victorian Mahogany Campaign Writing Slope, Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic 19th-century Victorian campaign-style writing slope (lap desk). Constructed from rich, solid mahogany wood, this vintage piece features the classic protective brass strapwork and corner mounts historically used to secure valuables during maritime or military transit. Interior Layout & Features: When opened, the desk unfolds into a dual-slanted writing surface lined with its characterful, distressed burgundy leather (skiver) accented by an elegant gold-leaf tooled decorative border. The top edge features traditional utility configurations including: Deep stationary wells for paper and letters (accessible beneath the folding leather flaps)A dedicated inkwell tray compartment Built-in groove channels for pens and pencils Original internal brass locking plate and structural hardware Condition Report: This item is offered in honest, unrestored antique condition, showcasing a wonderful aged patina.
