Original 1967 Tri-ang board game – The Magic Roundabout Game: Find Dougal’s Sugar. A scarce licensed game based on the classic BBC children’s series created by Serge Danot.
Made in England by Minimodels Tri-ang Ltd of Havant, Hampshire (part of the famous Lines Brothers / Tri-ang group, best known for Scalextric). Copyright marked “ Serge Danot, 1967, from the B.B.C. T.V. series The Magic Roundabout”.

• Five original plastic Dougal playing pieces in different colours (complete set originally had six; the missing piece is a simple figure that a buyer could easily 3D-print)

The Magic Roundabout (originally Le Manège Enchanté) was a French stop-motion series that became a huge British cultural phenomenon when Eric Thompson’s witty BBC narration began in 1965. It regularly drew up to 8 million viewers and developed a cult following among both children and adults. Dougal’s endless quest for sugar lumps is one of the show’s most famous running jokes – making this game’s theme perfect.
Tri-ang was one of the largest toy makers in the world at the time, and complete examples of this particular board game are genuinely uncommon. The board and box artwork remain full of colour; the box shows only the expected light age-related wear for a near-60-year-old game.
