Please show the name on the mailed box, it is the name of the person who received the medal, it can be researched. Failing that, persons name should be on the edge of the medal including reg number.
@D'Mac Hi there is a name of course, bit I believe in GDPR and data protection. Make an offer of 1 euro and I'll send it to you via pm
Just put up his regimental mumber, when I die, my reg goes into public domain, as all soldiers do. GDPR is contemporaneous, the 1940s is not.
@D'Mac Hi and thank you for reply. I won't share any data here. I hope you understand. You're welcome to offer 1e. for information for me to send you the name if you're interested in buying the item. Otherwise, thank you so much for the interest.
I understand, however there is no legal basis for that, gdpr is not legally relevant under WWII military history as it is all public domain. Your welcome to do the research yourself and publish any citations if any as it will positively impact AND possibly reinforce your asking price, unless of course the soldier is decorated.
If the edge is blank, then sadly, it can be forged to have been owned by say, Montgomery, and people have tried. Names are important. The defacement (thick black line through addressee) on the (box) that some people consider postal history looks fresh!
Thank you but I will move on from this one.
