WW1 British Old contemptible 1914 original paybook and paperwork grouping

Paybook and associated paperwork RHA/RFA to an ‘old contemptible’ court martial for trying to impersonate an officer. Served 18 years

Nice grouping consisting of well filled in paybook from about mid 1916 to end of hostilities, general mobilisation and demobilisation sheets alongside a photo of an artillery piece which may or may not be original to the grouping.

24040 Frank William Freeman attested 30/4/1902, re-engaged 30/4/1914, to France with the RHA 5th Brigade Divisional ammunition column 5th November 1914 then transferred SAAS 8 DAC RFA. Served for all 4 years of the war on the western front, entitled 1914 star with clasp, war and victory medals. Very interesting court martial which can be seen in the photos relating to him forging an officers signature on a letter in attempt to pass censors. His service records survive online.
