COLLECTION FROM PORTLAOISE
Two volumes of John Calvin’s writing - the Protestant Theologian. These may be of interest to those research the Huguenot / Protestant / Church of Ireland tradition.
I bought them from a very pleasant man in Kildare who told me that he noted a reproduction of one of the front pieces a few years back in a General Merchant’s window in Portarlington. He went in to enquire about this picture that matched his own books, and the elderly proprietor told him that to the best of his knowledge, the books had been part of a set that came to Ireland, and that town with the linen trade specifically.
They are intact, but pages worn at edges.
