The New Century Encyclopaedia: Historical, Geographical, Biographical, and Scientific Information, Trade Statistics, Populations etc., Edited by R. W. Egerton Eastwick (Vols 6,7,8,9 &10)

The New Century Encyclopaedia: Historical, Geographical, Biographical, and Scientific Information, Trade Statistics, Populations etc. is a multi-volume British reference work originally published around 1904 by Virtue and Company in London

Edited by R. W. Egerton Eastwick, an English barrister-at-law and editor who compiled the comprehensive work to capture the turn-of-the-century worldview.

The work was issued as a complete 10-volume set. It is highly recognizable by its turn-of-the-century Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) cloth bindings, distinct gold-embossed spine titles, and a classic portrait stamped on the front covers

Reflecting the era of its publication, the encyclopedia shifted heavy focus toward the era's booming global trade expansion, scientific and technical advancements, and shifting demographic/population structures across the British Empire and the world. It is richly illustrated with full-page color frontispieces and text engravings. Google Books.
