Ville de Saint-Quentin Deux Francs No. 181528
- RARE issue 22 September 1915 Cardboard note
Saint-Quentin is a town in the Aisne department in Northern France. Shortly after the outbreak of the war Saint-Quentin was overrun by the invading German forces by October, one month after his issue.
This note was printed on one side only. Text on the face states that the note was  ''Remboursable en espèces a vue sur présentation a la Recette Municipale trois mois après la signature de la Paix' Meaning that the note was Reimbursable at the Municipal Office for 3 months after the signing of the Peace.
This small note is printed in Black on Pale green coloured Card.
This old Emergency banknote has seen a bit of circulation, but highly collectible and superb example of a hard to find denomination.

Billets de Nécessite and other Emergency notes were issued in Europe - predominantly in France, during and after World War One from about 1914 and up to the early 1920's, they were used in towns and regions in place of coins which during wartime became scarce as the metal was needed for the war industry.

Péronne is a Commune of the Somme département in Hauts-de-France region in Northern France. It is close to where the 1916, and 1918 Battles of the Somme took place. .
Printed on fairly flimsy White watermarked paper with thick diagonal lines. -   'Émis suivant délibération en date du 2 Septembre 1915.' Meaning - Issued following the deliberations on 2 September 1915.
This is a medium sized note by Emergency Issue standards, measuring 105 x 75mm.
On the reverse is a list if all the 83 Communes where the note was valid and circulated. At the bottom centre is the Printers ident. DANEL of LILLE
