Antique Heavy Solid Coal Charcoal Ironing Iron With Rooster Catch

Old charcoal coal iron, ironing box weighs about 2kg iron.

Signs of some old use inside but still in great shape and great detail. The handle at one point may have had new interior washers screws as they do not appear to be as old. This is quite ornate with functional Rooster Catch and carvings on the handle are detailed. Uncertain exactly how old this and believe it was originally from France.

I have seen some similar but few that have the ornate detailing this has and most have more modern looking wood handles. This has a solid one piece base.
