Description
For sale: an antique white porcelain shoe. An original piece created in the Victorian style at one of the famous manufactories in Thuringia, Germany. Estimated date of manufacture: 1890–1910.
The key feature of this piece is a handwritten dedication in gold on the heel: "For a good boy." Such souvenirs were produced by German factories in limited export runs for the UK and US markets. The artist's mark and model number appear on the sole, though they are somewhat obscured by the glaze due to age. The item is free of chips and cracks. Length: 15.5 cm. Height: 7.5 cm. Width: 5.5 cm.
