1831 French Gladius Sword
Description
Original 1831 French artillery sword in very good condition, no rust and the blade retains its sharpness.
Glaive (gladius Style), 48.5 cm ox tongue steel blade, marked on one side of the ricasso “Klingenthal” and on the opposing side “Couloux Freres."
Overall condition: Very good, except some markings arent very clear.
About the sword; Artillerymen typically used them to clear brush and debris for their gun emplacements, and could use them in close quarters if pressed.
