Art Nouveau Tramp Art Crucifix(Possibly WW1)

Tramp art was made by untrained artisans from around 1880 to 1940..It was made using easily available materials such as cigar boxes and other reclaimed fixtures and fittings. This is a wonderful 16 inch example of such work and it displays beautifully.It had a small strip missing on the cross and I have carved a period correct piece of cigar box in to replace it. The piece is structurally sound and has very intricate detailing throughout (as per my many photos)..The figure of Christ is a gilded metal figure.It is very much a survivor piece that has never been revarrnished.This is an early 20th century example and these were sometimes produced by soldiers in the trenches from recycled materials..Registered post is available for an additional five euro.Thanks for looking please check out my other ads.
