For sale is a genuine antique commemorative collar/cuff stud dating from the Second Boer War era (circa 1900).

The front features a photographic portrait miniature of Field Marshal Lord Frederick Sleigh Roberts (Lord Roberts), the celebrated Commander-in-Chief of British forces during the conflict.

The reverse features the distinctive period crescent/half-moon fixed backing plate, which was designed to slide easily into removable starched shirt collars or cuffs.
