Cocktail stirrer/swizzle stick sterling silver
Description
This antique cocktail stirrer / swizzle stick is made of fully hallmarked sterling silver. The stirrer pushes open to reveal seven ‘prongs’ for mixing a cocktail. This appealing swizzle stick is made by the prestigious jewellers Deakin & Francis.
The stirrer measures 9cms when closed and extends to 14.2cms when pushed open and it weighs 4.8g
The end of the swizzle stick is stamped with a lion passant (for sterling silver) along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1950. There is a maker’s mark of ‘D&F’ (for Deakin & Francis).
This cocktail stirrer is 73 years old and is in very good condition for its age with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The opening / closing push mechanism works as it should.
