Fabulous Vintage Retro Mid-Century-Modern Small Pale Pink Glass Decanter with Gold and Silver Gilt Banding Plus Five Liqueur Glasses, Irice, Czechoslovakia

I am continuing my effort to downsize, in advance of all our possessions having to go back into storage again in the next few months (the builders keep changing the dates!)

For sale here is a Fabulous Vintage Retro Mid-Century-Modern Small Pale Pink Glass Decanter with Gold and Silver Gilt Banding Plus Five Liqueur Glasses, Irice, Czechoslovakia

This is a beautiful small decanter set suitable for liqueurs such as Cointreau. Or it could also be used as a large perfume bottle for cologne!
Originally the small matching liqueur glasses, would have also been in Pale Pink Glass, but the ones with it are in clear glass (but the same shape and size as the original ones.)

It’s in a beautiful pale pink glass, with many bands of gold and silver gilt over the whole sphere, accentuating the lovely shape. There are no markings, stamps or stickers on the base to identify the maker, but I have found one online with the sticker intact and attributing it to Irice, Czechoslovakia. Irving W. Rice Co. was a US company founded in 1905 which imported glassware such as perfume bottles, decanters, barware vases and other table crystal items, from Czechoslovakia, under the brand name Irice. They are still in business today, although this piece dates to the mid-century.

The bottle and stopper are both in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks, just some minor ware to the gilt, as to be expected for a piece of this age. It stands roughly 7.5 inches/ 19cm tall and is about 4.5 inches/11.5 cm at the widest point.

The five liqueur glasses stand 2.25 inches/ 6cm tall. They are clear glass with four bands of gold gilt.

So very Mad Men, the epitome of Mid-Century Modern flair, these would be an ideal addition to any MCM/Retro loving home cocktail bar.

Would also be fabulous in a bathroom setting where is could be used to hold liquid hand soap or cologne.
