Japanese Antiques &Curiosities

We are selling a variety of Japanese antiques and other items due to relocation. Among other things, here is a list of major items. Prices on application and all negotiable.

1. Pair of "Yukimi" Shōji screens. Late Taisho/Early Meiji period. Gold painted paper panel at base.
Complete with new cedar post and rail sliding use frame, and original glass panels for yukimi section. Unique item.

2. Single Yukimi Shōji screen. Late Shōwa.

3. 4 panel cedar, reed and bamboo screen. (in two parts).123cm high. Late Taisho/early Shōwa. (photo below)

4. Hibachi- blue ceramic brazier pot. (Original Early Shōwa, not a reproduction).

5. 4 panel "nekoma" or "komado" shōji screens from a Kyōto machiya. Late Meìji. 97x35cm each. Need re-papering.

6. Early Shōwa doll. 44cm high. No case. "Kabuki" style kimono, porcelain face and hands.

7. Various caligraphies. Framed.

8. Pair of black lacquer framed Fusuma screens. Minor stains. Cream paper cover - ideal artist's canvas!

9. Small sized (90x90x35) "Kaidan Tansu" display unit/drawers (This is a late 20th Century display piece, suitable for home or store use. It is not an original or functioning staircase).

10. Ornamental Summer Screens. Fine split bamboo, finished in brown/gold broaden, ornate hassles and bronze detail hooks. Complete with original cedarwood storage case. Very high-quality item from ? Early-Mid Shōwa.

11. 'Jiza ikagi' Carved Fish and bamboo pot hanger, used over open-fire 'i-ryōri'. 20th Century
