Mid-Century Decorative Glass Bowl

Large 30cm Vintage Mid-Century Czech Art Glass Bowl by Jan Beránek for Škrdlovice

Stunning, massive mid-century modern bohemian art glass centerpiece bowl. Designed by the legendary glassmaker Jan Beránek for the renowned Škrdlovice glassworks in Czechoslovakia during the late 1950s or early 1960s.
This piece is a magnificent example of Czech "hutní sklo" (hot-formed studio glass). It features a beautiful, rich olive-to-emerald green core encased in a thick, heavy layer of clear glass using the traditional sommerso technique. The iconic design features fluid, organic waves and a heavily sculpted, pulled rim that captures the light beautifully.
Key Features & Dimensions:
• Impressive Size: Measures a full 30 cm (approx. 12 inches) across at its widest point. This is the rare, large centerpiece scale—not the common small candy dishes.
• Substantial Weight: A very heavy, solid piece of art glass that anchors any table or shelf.
• Condition: In very good vintage condition. The glass is clear, vibrant, and retains its brilliant luster. No major chips, cracks, or deep gouges. As a genuine vintage item, it may show light, minor surface wear or faint scratching on the base consistent with age and gentle handling.
This is an absolute must-have statement piece for collectors of Murano, Chalet, or Scandinavian style art glass, and an incredible focal point for any Mid-Century Modern (MCM) interior
