Old Victorian police handlamp by Dolan & Co.
Description
155 MM high.
Made by Dolan & Co,. Vauxhall, London with their maker's plates to front and back.
Small winder missing from burner, Dinge to lens hood as per photo. The little button for moving the slider which darkens the lamp is missing but the slider still moves freely when pushed.
Catch and handle present and working well. Reservoir has ring, cap. burner and match striker to back. Bullseye lens is in good condition with no damage.
The oddly shaped top part was designed to use the heat of the lamp to keep a cup of coffee warm during night patrols.
Overall a good example of a scarce and early police lamp.
