Vintage (1975) German Beer Stein
Vintage (1975) German Beer Stein
Description
Vintage West German Götz von Berlichingen 1/2L Stoneware Beer Stein with Pewter Lid.
Lovely condition.
The inscription inside the lid reads:
"Er aber saß still, sann mich um Arsch lecken"
This is a humorous reference to the famous quote attributed to Götz von Berlichingen: "Er kann mich am Arsch lecken" ("He can kiss my arse"), made famous by Goethe's play about the knight. Steins featuring Götz often incorporate references to this phrase as a bit of historical and drinking-culture humor.
