Phoenix Ale was first launched in 1956 by Cherry’s Brewery in Waterford, brewed at their historic Mary Street facility. It was marketed as a proudly Irish ale, made using native‑grown barley, and quickly became one of Ireland’s most recognisable mid‑century beer brands.
