Vintage Tennis Racket

T38836 AMF Head Arthur Ashe Competition Vintage tennis racket.

Made in the late 1960’s abc 1970’s of composite or aluminium skin construction layout.

This is in excellent condition with the original head cover also in excellent condition.

This specific model is a holy grail for tennis historians. Arthur Ashe actively joined forces with HEAD to design this frame because he was shattering his traditional wooden frames at an unsustainable rate on tour.

It broke ground as the first major composite racket to prominently feature a player's signature name. It is constructed using an innovative aluminum outer skin fused over a fiberglass and wood/plastic composite core. This gave it immense durability and a unique, flexible feel that Ashe used to conquer the field, most famously wielding its silver-framed sibling to defeat Jimmy Connors at the 1975 Wimbledon Championship.
