Description
Very nice 1940 dated Sharman Neill Ltd Belfast ships compass.Complete with original oil burner.Stamped BB1373 on the top and on the compass matched originally .Sharman Neill supplied equipment to the Harland & Wolfe Dockyard who were fitting out Royal Navy Vessels at that time.This is likely from one of them.The rectangular hatch is original and would have been used to adjust and check the gimbal.Great patina.
