@bike doctor if you check the serial numbers on Raleigh site it will tell you where and when it was made so I will take their word for it
Well its wrong because they didn't make chopper back then , with alloy rims handle bars were chrome and wheels were chrome there had cotter pins in the crank and the seat was all one piece the sea post was chrome .and gear were on frame in the middle
Lovely bike. But I must also note that this is probably a chopper mk3, the split seat was Introduced with the MK3 model to meet modern safety guidelines. And if that's a MK3 model then those models were only produced between 2004 and 2012.
It's also missing the gear lever on the top tube which is another thing that was changed in the 00s.
Another detail that may help you is that Raleigh ceased producing choppers in 1982, so it's unlikely that this bike could be from 1984. (Maybe bought in 1984?)
Anyway, it looks pretty cool and is still a genuine mk3.
