Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus

The **Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus** is a premium professional urinal screen designed to provide a complete solution for cleaner, fresher and easier to maintain commercial washrooms. Rather than simply adding fragrance to a urinal, Shield Plus performs several important functions at the same time. It helps reduce urine splashback, prevents unwanted debris from entering the drain, neutralises unpleasant odours, releases a long lasting fragrance and helps maintain cleaner urinal pipes.

Designed for **busy public and commercial washrooms**, each screen can remain effective for up to **40 days**, providing a practical and economical solution for professional cleaners, facilities managers and business owners.

The flexible design allows Shield Plus to fit virtually all standard urinals without complicated installation. Simply clean the urinal, remove the screen from its packaging and position it over the waste area. No tools, adhesives or specialist training are required.

## Up To 40 Days Of Performance

One of the major advantages of the Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus is its long service life.

Each screen is designed to remain effective for **up to 40 days**, reducing the frequency with which urinal screens need to be replaced.

This makes Shield Plus particularly suitable for buildings containing multiple urinals. Cleaning companies and facilities management teams can incorporate replacement into their scheduled washroom maintenance programme rather than constantly changing screens.

Actual performance can vary depending on washroom temperature, ventilation, frequency of use and general environmental conditions. For this reason, screens should still be inspected regularly during normal cleaning.

## Helps Reduce Urine Splashback

Splashback is one of the biggest hygiene problems associated with public urinals.

When urine strikes a hard ceramic surface, small droplets can bounce back from the urinal and reach surrounding floors, walls, partitions and other nearby surfaces. This creates additional cleaning work and can contribute to persistent unpleasant smells around the urinal area.

Shield Plus has been designed to **reduce urine splashback** by disrupting the direct impact against the hard surface of the urinal.

Reducing splashback helps contain contamination inside the urinal where it can be dealt with during normal cleaning.

For high traffic washrooms, even a reduction in the amount of liquid reaching surrounding surfaces can make a noticeable difference to everyday maintenance.

## Helps Prevent Drain Blockages

Urinals in public washrooms are sometimes treated like waste bins. Cigarette ends, chewing gum, paper and other small items can be dropped into the bowl and eventually find their way into the drainage system.

The Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus creates a physical barrier over the waste area, helping prevent unwanted objects from entering the urinal drain.

Cleaning staff can then remove visible debris from the screen during their normal cleaning routine instead of allowing it to enter the pipework.

This simple function can be particularly valuable in pubs, restaurants, nightclubs, shopping centres, service stations and other high traffic locations.

## Long Lasting Washroom Fragrance

A washroom does not simply need to look clean. It needs to **smell clean as well**.

Shield Plus continuously deodorises the urinal area with a pleasant fragrance, helping create a fresher environment for customers, employees and visitors.

Available fragrance options include **Lemon, Mango, Pacco, Cucumber Melon and Apple**, allowing businesses to select a fragrance that best suits their premises.

For buildings with several washrooms, different fragrances can also be used in different locations.

The fragrance should complement a proper washroom cleaning programme rather than replace it. Urinals must still be cleaned and maintained regularly to remove urine deposits, dirt, bacteria and limescale.

## Helps Neutralise Unpleasant Odours

Simply covering a bad smell with a stronger fragrance is not always enough.

The Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus has been designed to help **neutralise unpleasant urinal odours while also releasing fragrance**.

This is particularly important in high traffic commercial washrooms where urinals can be used hundreds of times throughout the day.

Urine residue around the waste outlet, underneath screens and on surrounding surfaces can quickly create persistent smells if cleaning standards are poor.

For maximum effectiveness, Shield Plus should always be installed into a properly cleaned urinal and the surrounding floor and wall areas should also be maintained regularly.

## Helps Maintain Cleaner Pipes

Shield Plus does more than protect the visible section of the urinal.

Its design also helps maintain the urinal drainage system and **clean the pipes during use**.

Keeping urinal pipework cleaner can form an important part of preventative washroom maintenance, particularly in heavily used commercial facilities.

It should not be considered a replacement for professional drain maintenance where a blockage or serious uric scale accumulation already exists, but it provides an additional maintenance benefit during everyday use.

## Suitable For Busy Commercial Washrooms

The Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus is particularly suitable for locations where urinals receive frequent use.

This includes **pubs, hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, schools, colleges, universities, offices, shopping centres, gyms, leisure centres, factories, warehouses, service stations, airports and other public buildings**.

It is also an excellent choice for commercial cleaning contractors responsible for maintaining multiple customer sites.

The combination of odour control, fragrance, anti splash performance and drain protection allows several common urinal problems to be addressed with one simple product.

## How To Install Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus

Installation is extremely simple.

First, put on suitable **protective cleaning gloves**.

Remove the existing urinal screen and dispose of it according to the waste procedures operating at the premises.

Do not immediately install the new screen.

First thoroughly inspect and clean the urinal. Remove visible rubbish, dirt, urine residue and limescale using an appropriate professional washroom cleaning product.

Pay particular attention to the waste area where contamination can accumulate underneath old urinal screens.

Rinse the urinal where required.

Remove a fresh Edge Shield Plus from its packaging and place it inside the urinal over the waste area.

Ensure that the screen sits securely and does not prevent normal drainage.

No adhesive, screws, clips or specialist installation equipment are required.

Once positioned correctly, the urinal can return to normal use.

## Daily Cleaning Instructions

A fragranced urinal screen should never be used as a substitute for proper cleaning.

During normal washroom maintenance, inspect the urinal and Shield Plus screen for contamination or trapped debris.

While wearing gloves, remove any rubbish that has collected on the screen.

Clean the urinal bowl and surrounding surfaces according to the site's normal cleaning programme.

Periodically lift the screen and inspect the area underneath it. Do not allow urine deposits, dirt or limescale to build up beneath the screen.

If the screen is removed during cleaning, reposition it correctly before leaving the washroom.

Always follow the usage and safety instructions supplied with any separate cleaning chemicals.

## When To Replace Shield Plus

The Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus can provide performance for **up to approximately 40 days**.

However, replacement requirements can vary depending on usage levels and environmental conditions.

Cleaning staff should inspect the screen regularly and replace it sooner if it becomes damaged, excessively contaminated or no longer provides the required performance.

For facilities containing many urinals, record the installation or replacement date as part of the washroom maintenance schedule.

This makes stock management easier and helps ensure old screens are not accidentally left in place for extended periods.

## Fully Recyclable Plastic Construction

Another important feature of Shield Plus is that it is manufactured from **fully recyclable plastic**.

This provides businesses with a more responsible option when selecting disposable washroom consumables.

Where appropriate recycling facilities are available, used products should be handled and disposed of according to local recycling and waste management requirements.

## Storage And Safety

Keep unused Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus products in their original packaging until required.

Store in a cool, dry location away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.

Always wear protective gloves when removing used urinal screens.

Wash hands after carrying out washroom cleaning and maintenance, even when gloves have been worn.

Keep unused screens away from children and animals.

## A Complete Urinal Maintenance Solution

The **Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus** provides much more than a basic fragranced urinal screen.

With **up to 40 days of performance, anti splash technology, odour neutralisation, long lasting fragrance, drain protection, pipe cleaning action and fully recyclable plastic construction**, it provides several important washroom maintenance benefits in one easy to install product.

Using Shield Plus is simple: **clean the urinal thoroughly, position the screen correctly over the waste area, inspect and clean around it regularly and replace it within approximately 40 days or sooner when necessary**.

For professional cleaners and businesses looking for a practical way to improve urinal hygiene, freshness and everyday maintenance, Edge Urinal Screen Shield Plus offers a convenient and highly effective solution for busy commercial washrooms.
