Pair Minton Majolica Posy Holders Circa 1860s

Description

Pair of Minton Majolica posy holders, showcasing a fantail dove, on a grassy base with white, green, cobalt blue being the predominant colours and gilding to the base. The fanning of the tail feathers presents a design for elegant flower arrangements. They bear the makers mark which identify them as Minton and indicates that they were produced circa 1862 to 1871. Measurements are 6 1/2 high, 5 ¾” wide and 3 1/2” depth.
