Hi Dalia,
Thanks for listing the StairMaster 8 Series Gauntlet – it’s a fantastic piece of equipment.
As you know, once these commercial machines leave a gym setting, their value drops quite a bit. Second-hand StairMasters typically sell in the €2,500–€3,000 range. With no warranty, transport and setup costs on my side, and the limited market (home users rarely go for this), it’s a big out-of-pocket risk.
I run a small business studio and could definitely make use of it. That said, if you’re still using it and getting value from it, definitely keep it – but if it’s sitting unused, sometimes it makes more sense to write it off. I’ve had to do that with a lot of equipment myself.
Would you be open to €2,000

Hi Dalia,
I understand that you paid around €11,000 for the StairMaster 8 Series Gauntlet originally, but these machines are a bit like phones – they depreciate quickly. This particular model was introduced in 2015, so while it’s still solid, it’s no longer the latest design. If I had been looking a few years ago, I would have been willing to pay €6,000 for it second-hand, but the market has moved on.
Refurbished units of this same model, sold with a 12‑month guarantee, now go for around €3,000. Without that guarantee, if anything breaks I’d have to handle repairs and parts myself, which adds risk.
Also, with a €6,000 budget for a new machine today there are more modern options, such as:
StairMaster 4G (2024) – compact design, updated mechanics and console
StairMaster 10G (2019) – sled-push mode, bigger screen, upgraded drive system
Life Fitness PowerMill Climber – smooth, adjustable steps, modern console
Matrix C50 ClimbMill – quiet belt drive, adjustable step height
I know it’s annoying – I had a similar issue with an expensive treadmill years ago. I ended up holding on to it for a long time and just gave it away in the end. I completely understand if you want to hold on, that’s exactly what I did before. Just being honest with you, it’s not worth 6k.

Thanks for putting this up for sale! Is there any scenario where you’d be willing to donate this? My friends & I are training for an event next year and this would be hugely beneficial to our challenge. That said, we can’t afford to buy it. I can give you more context over a call but again, only if you’re open to it and I of course understand why you would not be. Thanks, Colm
