Large Framed M.C. Escher "Waterfall" Vintage Print Custom Artisan Wood Frame (63.5cm x 83.4cm)

Stunning, large-scale vintage framed print of the iconic mind-bending masterwork "Waterfall" (Waterval) by the legendary Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher. 

This is an officially licenced, vintage lithographic reproduction published by Cordon Art B.V. in Baarn, Holland (the estate company managed by Escher's family). It features Escher's integrated signature monogram and plate timestamp (X '61) in the bottom corner. 

Dating from the 1980s/1990s, this is a heavy, substantial collector's piece that perfectly brings iconic surrealism into retro or modern home spaces.

The Masterwork:
Completed in 1961, "Waterfall" is one of Escher's most celebrated impossible constructions. It uses complex geometry to create a perpetual motion machine where water flows downhill along an aqueduct, yet impossibly finishes at the top of the waterfall to power a mill wheel in an endless loop.

Artisan Custom Frame:
Housed in a thick, heavy, dark-stained solid timber frame. It features a unique, hand-stamped woodworker's "M" maker's mark on the front corner, proving it was custom-milled by a craftsman to match the print.

Superb Contrast:
The sharp black-and-white litho print holds fantastic deep contrast behind clear protective glass, beautifully showing off the intricate architectural masonry and geometric tower toppers.

Frame, backing board, and glass are very sturdy and well-looked after.
The reverse features heavy-duty metal triangle D-ring hangers.
