I had the pleasure to paint one of my most detailed painting of a landscape, sunset and rocks all together. I really loved this image , to catch the beautiful sunset on the rocks at Crohy Head Sea Arch Stack in Co. Donegal. I love to do details and try to bring the painting to live.
When i have started the painting i didn't realize it will be a challenge, but as i love challenges i had to give it a try. so little by little i have started to layer out the sky, then the rocks, and the sea. Slowly building up the sky, which to be honest was a bit scary at first, as i don't tend to paint skies, then came the challenge of the rocks. Its not easy and can get lost in details and lose patience, but all process can go up and down, disappointments, frustrations, but when taken slowly and with patience, rock by rock, wave by wave, at a point they will all fit in. A feeling of relaxation and happiness settles in, as the painting starts to take shape and form. Light comes to live, rocks start to take shape, and water to flow.
It's a learning process, and i think to challenge ourself and believe in us, at the end we can do it.
