Jack B Yeats 'Men of Destiny' Print
Jack B Yeats 'Men of Destiny' Print
Description
'Men of Destiny' by Jack B Yeats (1871-1957) is said to be one of he's finest paintings housed in the National Art Gallery. I do love Jack B in Seomra 1 (room 1) at the gallery. The print and frame are in.very good condition. It depicts three fishermen securing a boat at Rosses Point in Sligo, in the west of Ireland. Painted in the period between the Easter Rising and the Republic of Ireland Act 1948, it has been suggested that the title could refer to the destiny of ordinary men, like the fishermen shown, to defend Irish freedom. Just to note prints are custom framed in the National Art Gallery.
