This image is a composite originally made of 10 separate images taken with Nikon D60 camera, and stitched into a Little Planet projection. The print is 90cm by 90cm in size, printed at 300 ppi quality. The print is mounted, but unframed.

This image was taken during my Winter season at Halley Research Station in 2014.

When wintering at Halley, the world is shrinking to a tiny fraction of what it used to be in the Real World. In a way, we might as well be on a different planet, and if we were - it would have most likely looked just like the one in the picture. This is the essence of what it's like to be here - even though Antarctica is vast, in winter we only see our base and its immediate surroundings, and they make up our little world.
