This piece was produced in England by the high-quality framing company Manuscript Limited (Series 957), as verified by the maker's label intact on the reverse backing.

John Constable is celebrated as one of Britain's greatest landscape artists, famous for capturing the natural beauty of the English countryside with a dramatic, romantic focus on light and sky. Originally painted as an oil canvas in 1823, "Gillingham Bridge" depicts a tranquil rural scene of a stone bridge crossing the River Stour in the country town of Gillingham. In the background, the tower of the local church rises elegantly above a dense line of lush green trees, creating a peaceful, timeless country aesthetic. The original masterpiece hangs permanently in the Tate Britain museum in London.
