W.W Gill 19th century watercolour

Here is a beautiful 19th Century watercolour from renowned landscape artist W.W. Gill..William Walter Gill (1823-1894) has comfortably sold for four figures at most auction houses across Europe.This scene depicts a church in a village,with a bridge and a flowing river on the outskirts.He gets a lot in to the picture,without it appearing too busy or overcrowded.He shows great skill in his use of proportions and choice of soothing colours.The painting itself measures 8x6 inches at it's widest and tallest points.It sits in a beautiful roped and plaster wooden gilded wooden frame(16.5x14.5).The painting has great colour in it for it's age.The frame is showing some expansion at the joints from central heating over the decades..but what a beautiful frame(worth my asking price by itself)..Safe postage available at buyer's cost.Thanks for looking please check out my other ads.
