Lupins are one of the most spectacular plants you can grow in an Irish garden — tall, bold flower spikes in a stunning range of colours that put on a real show from late spring right through early summer. These are mixed colours, so every pot is a surprise!

A hardy herbaceous perennial, lupins die back to the ground in winter and return reliably each year, getting bigger and more impressive with age. They are also brilliant for wildlife, attracting bumblebees and other pollinators.

Flowering period: May–July, with a second flush possible if cut back after first bloom

Full grown size: 60–90cm tall, 45–60cm wide

Best position: Full sun to partial shade

Soil: Well-drained, slightly acidic soil — avoid heavy clay
