The 1973 Pirelli calendar, photographed by Brian Duffy, was indeed the first to incorporate significant airbrushing techniques. Duffy collaborated with pop artist Allen Jones and airbrush artist Philip Castle for the calendar, and these techniques were later used on the iconic David Bowie "Aladdin Sane" album cover.
