Superb and exceptionally scarce original large-format c.1950 Northern Ireland tourism poster featuring The Giant’s Causeway, produced for the Travel Association of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

This is not a modern reproduction. The poster carries the original publisher/printer information along the lower margin and corresponds to the large-format issue preserved in the Hoover Institution Library & Archives Poster Collection.

The poster features a dramatic period photograph of the Giant’s Causeway beneath the heading “NORTHERN IRELAND – The Giant’s Causeway”, with the large BRITAIN typography and original Travel Association emblems below.

A particularly attractive piece of Northern Irish social, tourism and graphic-design history, and a striking large-format decorative piece.

The poster is currently professionally presented in a substantial black frame and displays extremely well.

Condition: This is an original poster approximately 75 years old and shows genuine age-related toning, marks and general signs of its history. Please study the detailed photographs provided. It has deliberately not been described as mint or restored. The photographic image, typography and original printer details remain clearly visible and the poster has tremendous presence when displayed.

Original examples of this particular large 40 x 25 inch Clarke & Sherwell Giant’s Causeway issue appear to be extremely scarce on the open market, while an example is preserved institutionally by the Hoover Institution.
