You’re right — as it stands, it can’t.

I simply copy-pasted the specifications from the manufacturer’s label, hence the confusion over the Chinese labelling/marketing. (Don’t kill the messenger!)

As I understand it, 5 kW is the starting/peak power, while 4.5 kW is the rated running power the generator is capable of producing.

As this appears to be a generic model, I suspect the same generator is also sold with a twin-socket configuration on the front, in which case the combined 4.5 kW output would make sense.

As it’s currently configured, with a single 13 A, 250 V socket, the theoretical maximum based on those ratings is 3,250 W — although the actual usable output is limited by the socket, wiring and circuit protection.

The generator’s advertised output and the output available through its fitted 13 A socket are two different things.
