Description

Top class unit from legendary English engineers Solid State Logic, this 4 channel preamp has the perfect blend of super clean pres with the ability to add variable harmonic distortion independently to each channel, varying from 2nd to 3rd degree harmonics. Combined with both an input and output control this allows you to find the right amount of harmonic distortion for any source material.
Very versatile unit, sounds excellent on drums but also very useful as hardware inserts to add some analogue saturation to individual tracks in a mix.
Full Description
Four super-clean, high-quality mic preamps are combined with independent Variable Harmonic Drive circuits that use 100% analogue signal paths to produce rich harmonic distortion. As the input gain is increased, the Variable Harmonic Drive circuit introduces a mix of 2nd or 3rd harmonic distortion to your source material, taking it from gentle valve-style warmth through to trashy grunge. The SSL XLogic Alpha VHD offers a new world of overdriven possibilities.
