@JohnHughes23
The Felt IA series, including the 2019 models like the IA14, are generally not UCI compliant for traditional road racing because they are pure time trial/triathlon (TT/Tri) bikes with aggressive aero designs, non-traditional frame shapes (like integrated storage), and often lack the required two-triangle frame structure and bottle cage placements. While Felt makes UCI-approved road/TT bikes (like their DA series), the IA is designed for triathlon rules, which are more lenient, meaning the IA14 is perfect for Tri but not for UCI road events.
Key Reasons for Non-Compliance (for UCI Road Racing):
Frame Design: UCI requires a traditional two-triangle main frame structure, which many pure Tri bikes (like the IA) deviate from.
Tube Shapes: The infamous "3:1 rule" (width to depth ratio) is often exceeded by aero bikes.
Bottle Cages: UCI rules restrict bottle placement, often requiring two cages on the main frame, whereas IA bikes often have a single, aero-integrated seat tube mount.
Components: Integrated storage boxes and aero extensions also fall outside UCI guidelines for standard racing.
In Summary: If you're racing Triathlons or non-UCI events, the IA14 is a great choice. If you're racing sanctioned UCI road races or TTs, you need a dedicated UCI-legal bike, not an IA series bike.

@Ken lalorrr thanks. Of course, would encourage some use in doors first and then with someone on a regular road bike for guidance with the first few times on the road though for a beginner.
