The BYD SEAL U DM-i Comfort FWD is a spacious, premium plug-in hybrid SUV designed for drivers who want to make the most of electric driving without giving up the freedom of petrol for longer journeys.

Using BYD's advanced Super DM-i technology, the SEAL U combines electric motors, a highly efficient petrol engine and BYD's Blade Battery technology to deliver a smooth, quiet and flexible driving experience. BYD's DM-i system prioritises electric power during everyday driving, with the petrol engine providing additional support when required.

COMFORT FWD – THE LONGER-RANGE DM-i

The Comfort FWD uses the larger 26.6kWh BYD Blade Battery, giving it up to 125km of pure-electric WLTP range.

That is the major advantage of the Comfort over the Boost: for customers with access to home charging, a substantial amount of everyday driving can potentially be completed using electric power alone.

The system produces approximately 218PS, with front-wheel drive and BYD's automatic DM-i drivetrain. When the battery needs support, the petrol engine gives you the flexibility to continue travelling without relying entirely on public charging infrastructure. BYD quotes a total range of more than 1,100km WLTP for the Comfort.

For Irish drivers, that means you can charge at home and use electric power for the commute, school run and local driving, while retaining the freedom to travel across Ireland without having to plan every journey around charging stops.

The Boost FWD is also available, using an 18.3kWh battery and up to 80km pure-electric WLTP range. For customers looking for the ultimate SEAL U DM-i performance, the Design AWD is available with four-wheel drive.
