Meet the BYD SEAL Design RWD, a fully electric performance saloon combining striking design, impressive performance, advanced technology and genuine everyday practicality.

The SEAL Design RWD is the rear-wheel-drive model in the Irish SEAL range, delivering 230kW / 312PS and a 0–100km/h time of approximately 5.9 seconds. For customers looking for even more performance, the SEAL Excellence AWD is also available with dual-motor all-wheel drive.

The vehicle shown in the photographs is finished in the particularly distinctive Indigo Grey.

ELECTRIC PERFORMANCE WITH REAR-WHEEL DRIVE

The SEAL Design RWD uses BYD's advanced Blade Battery and a powerful permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor driving the rear wheels.

With 312PS and 360Nm of torque, it delivers the instant response you'd expect from an electric performance car, while remaining smooth and refined enough for everyday Irish driving. The chassis combines a double-wishbone front suspension with multi-link rear suspension to provide a balance between sharp handling and everyday comfort.

It is equally at home on the daily commute through Dublin, Cork, Galway or Limerick as it is on a longer trip around Ireland.

OCEAN-INSPIRED DESIGN

The SEAL is one of BYD's most distinctive models, using the company's Ocean-inspired design language to create a low, aerodynamic and sporty profile.

The front features the distinctive Ocean X design, slim LED lighting and flowing body lines, while the rear is finished with a full-width LED light signature.

The result is a saloon that looks genuinely different from the conventional executive car.

And in Indigo Grey, as shown in the photographs, the flowing bodywork and sculpted sides really stand out.

The Irish specification includes front and rear parking sensors, a 360° camera, adaptive and intelligent cruise control, blind-spot detection, lane assistance, traffic-sign recognition, automatic emergency braking and rear cross-traffic alert and braking.

For busy Irish car parks and town centres, the 360° camera is particularly useful, while adaptive cruise control and the extensive motorway assistance systems make longer journeys more relaxed.

For customers wanting the ultimate SEAL, the Excellence AWD adds a second electric motor and all-wheel drive, increasing output to 390kW / 530PS and reducing the 0–100km/h time to just 3.8 seconds.
