Dyer’s Chamomile
Botanical Name: Anthemis tinctoria
Type: Hardy Perennial (often grown as a biennial or short-lived perennial)

Also known as Golden Marguerite, Dyer’s Chamomile produces masses of cheerful, daisy-like yellow flowers over finely divided, ferny foliage. Traditionally used as a natural dye plant, this charming perennial not only brightens borders but also supports pollinators and brings old-world charm to cottage and herb gardens.

Height: 60 – 80 cm
Spread: 30 – 50 cm
Flowers: June – September
Position: Full sun, well-drained soil (thrives in poor to moderately fertile ground)

Growing Information

Sow Indoors: Feb – Apr, lightly press seeds onto the surface (needs light to germinate)
Sow Outdoors: Apr – Jun or Sep – Oct for naturalising
Germination: 10 – 21 days at 15 – 20°C
Transplant / Thin: Space 25 – 30 cm apart after hardening off
Care: Drought-tolerant once established; cut back after flowering to encourage a second flush
