Leek Lancelot

Leek Lancelot is a strong, reliable autumn to early winter variety producing long, thick white stems with dark green, upright leaves. Known for its uniformity and excellent flavour, it’s perfect for soups, stews, and roasting. With good resistance to rust and bolting, Lancelot is a favourite for both home gardeners and allotment growers.

Growing Information

Sow Indoors: Jan – Feb in trays or modules of seed compost.
Sow Outdoors: Mar – Apr in drills 1cm deep.
Germination: 14–21 days at 15–20°C.
Transplant/Thin: Move seedlings outdoors in May – Jun when pencil-thick, spacing 20cm apart in rows 30cm apart.
Care: Earth up stems as they grow for longer, blanched shanks. Keep well-watered in dry spells.
